Test: Windows 7 up to 25% energy saving than XP

Microsoft has repeatedly declared that after upgrading Windows 7 companies will save a lot of resources, environmental protection is increasingly becoming the focus of today’s businesses, energy is already have to think about. Recently, embedded software development and consulting firm Mindteck multiple computers were tested on dormant and low usage and high usage of state power consumption of Windows 7 and XP.


From the test results, thanks to its outstanding power management, Windows 7 can save a lot of money for the enterprise. In factory settings, Windows 7 and Windows XP power consumption difference is glaring. In the Pentium 4 machine, if you do not change the factory default settings, then Windows 7, Windows XP power consumption less than 25%. Even if all the drivers updated to the latest version, Windows 7 is still 10% higher than XP to save electricity.
Compared to Pentium 4 machines, the more high-end computer, Windows 7 and XP power consumption gap between the somewhat reduced, but Windows 7 is still an average saving of 3% compared with XP.

Microsoft: System attacks XP suffered twice as Vista and Win7
