YouTube consumes 10% of the enterprise bandwidth, when workers are most keen to Facebook
A recent study found that employees access Facebook at work flow, more than twice as Google, YouTube also accounted for 10% of corporate Internet traffic.
Security “Network Box” conducted the study. The first quarter of this year, they collected the enterprise local area network computer access to visit the 13 billion site. Analysis found that 7% of the traffic is to visit Facebook’s, Google 3.4% Yahoo 2.4%. From which to see, Facebook is more than double Google’s.
The study also found that employees access to YouTube, consumes about 10% of corporate Internet bandwidth, much higher than the 4.5% occupancy Facebook. Other “big business bandwidth consumption,” also includes Microsoft’s Windows Update Services (3.3%), Yahoo Photo Server (2.7%, indicating that Yahoo page images), Google is the bandwidth consumption of 2.5%.
Companies in the survey, 43% said excessive working hours for employees to access social networking sites are worried.
